Lincoln Art Programme
Lincoln Art Programme is a curatorial platform that focuses on working with artists to create new work in Lincolnshire. Lincoln Art Programme works within a nomadic framework; it has no gallery or static space, but uses the county and its various histories, events, communities and evolving landscapes as sites, spaces and starting points. Many artists that work with the programme have never visited the county before, and consequently all projects start with the artists undertaking a number of site visits to the region. It’s these short visits that expose artists to Lincolnshire’s sites, histories and people, which provide the beginnings of dialogue for creating new work. Working in partnership with venues and sites across the region the programme looks to locate contemporary art amongst daily Lincolnshire life, allowing for new work and the issues and debate that this work raises to proliferate throughout Lincolnshire’s rural and urban communities.
